PONDERING

"It's a sweet thing to sit quietly in the early-morning darkness and talk to God for awhile.
It's amazing what you gain from the conversation.”  - Richelle E. Goodrich
TEN COMMANDMENTS OF HUMAN RELATIONS

1.  SPEAK TO PEOPLE.
There is nothing so nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

2.  SMILE AT PEOPLE.
It takes 72 muscles to frown;  only 14 to smile.

3.  CALL PEOPLE BY NAME.
The sweetest music to anyone's ears is the sound of his own name.

4. BE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
If you want to have friends, be a friend.

5. BE CORDIAL.
Speak and act as if everything you do is a genuine pleasure

6. BE GENUINELY INTERESTED IN PEOPLE.
You can like almost everybody if you try.

7. BE GENEROUS WITH PRAISE...
cautious with criticism.

8. BE CONSIDERATE
with the feelings of others.  There are usually three sides to a controversy-
yours, the other fellow's, and the right side.

9. BE ALERT
to give service.  What counts most in life is what we do for others.

10. ADD TO THIS
a good sense of humor, a big dose of patience and a dash of humility,
and you will be rewarded manifold.

SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.  Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask :How are you?"do you hear the reply?
When the day is done do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?
You'd better slow down.  Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won't last.

Ever told your child we'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down.  Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.  The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It's like an unopened gift.... thrown away.
Life is not a race.   do take it slower....
Hear the music before the song is over.

Words of Wisdom
Kindness, like a boomerang, always returns.

The world needs more warm hearts and fewer hotheads.

The most important things in life are not "things".

No wishbone ever took the place of a backbone.

Happiness comes not from having much to live on,
but from having much to live FOR.

When it rains, look for the rainbow.

The person who makes mistakes
does not usually make anything.

One thing you can give and still keep is your word.

A wise man adapts himself to circumstances
as water shapes itself to the vessel that contains it.

Real friends are those who, when you've
made a fool of yourself, don't feel that
you've done a permanent job.

The important thing about your lot in life is
whether you use if for parking or building.

You have to do your own growing,
no matter how tall your grandfather was.

The man whispered "God, speak to me."
And a meadowlark sang.  But the man did not hear.

So the man yelled "God, speak to me!"
And the thunder rolled across the sky. But the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said "God, let me see You."
And a star shone brightly. But the man did not notice.

And the man shouted "God, show me a miracle."
And a life was born. But the man did not know.

So, the man cried out in despair "Touch me, God,
and let me know that You are here."

Whereupon God reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way you expect.
