First flag for War of Secession (England) hung behind Speaker's chair, State House, Charleston, South Carolina.  Troops advanced under their state and local flags. 

Stars and stripes were not official army regulations until after 1830s.

As promised, history is being rewritten.  It is apparent that the Constitution of the United States has been pushed aside by our own elected officials,  of whom very few represent the wishes of the people.   The  new rules and regulations are gradually taking away the freedoms of we, the people, who are the real body of government of the United States of America, a fact that appears to have been forgotten also, as well as the Holy Bible.  What hasn't been forgotten has been banned or declared illegal.   I  miss the free land of America, as it used to be.  In a television broadcast in 1973, a Canadian commentator, the late Gordon Sinclair, gave tribute to the America in which I lived.
