Dreams
A life of happiness-
A dream that never came true,
But became a nightmare
That left an Indelible mark on my mind
That can never be erased.
Words, promises- meaningless in a
Life without understanding; a life without
Love- without forgiveness.
Yet there is still a compulsion to follow a dream,
But to what end?
Is it fantasy that keeps one
Filled with hope for contentment?
Yes, I think so...but until that fantasy becomes
Reality, hope overcomes remorse and the
Burden is easier to bear in search of fulfillment.
The nightmare of a wasted life lurks,
Like a hungry beast, waiting to attack
And devour the dream. Life is mysterious...
Erratic...filled with days of anguish, yet
The expectation of someday realizing true
Happiness erases the sorrow and makes
Life worth living.

Caring
Say it with a single rose
Or a beautiful bouquet...
Friendship is forever,
Not just for one special day.
Friendship is a treasure
Of trust and kindness shared-
You don’t have to sing a love song,
Just two simple words...
" I care"

Wounded Heart
Bruised and battered, my wounded heart
Knows not love nor desire,
Without love returned.
You lifted me from an abyss of grief-
You gave me sunshine, and you took it away. With no warning. The laughter we shared,
The happiness, tossed into a bottomless pit
Of darkness.

Happiness Lost
A storm, raging in my mind,
Pouring out its sadness-
Filling my brain with the chaos
Of happiness lost,
Buried in an abyss of darkness
Where turmoil reigns.
A battle of heart and mind-
Thoughts in disarray, like a jigsaw puzzle-
And none of the pieces fit.

A Rainbow at Midnight
A moonless night; the darkness engulfs me; jet black, swirling,
Circling like a wolf pack closing in on its prey —I lie motionless, trapped, Unable to escape its grip, yet I feel contentment. The clock strikes twelve. Out of the darkness a glimmer of light.  I feel warmth.  I see a myriad of Color —I see arms reaching out.
I see love.
I see you.
A rainbow at midnight.

Serenity
Dusk...deepening shadows,
The moon winking through green leaves-
An aerial light display by dancing fireflies.
Soft crackling, a gentle rustling beneath
The trees —night creatures.
In the distance a whip-poor-will sings his nocturnal lullaby.
Birds silhouetted against the darkening sky
Wing their way to their nest, there to rest until daybreak.
A scene of beauty and peace, equalled only
By the gentle calm of dawn.

A Mother Is...
A mother is a wondrous one
The Lord put on this land;
She teaches you the way of life
With a firm, but loving hand.
She's always there when things go wrong
To lend a willing ear,
And calmly gives assurance
That you've not a thing to fear.
She speaks with love
Straight from her heart-
A sparkle in her eyes —
The years that streaked her hair with grey
Have also made her wise.
She's borne the burden of her years
Through happiness and strife
And made a vow of eternal love
From the day she gave you life.
A Father Is...
A father is a hero-
Someone you can admire;
He gives you love and guidance
And his patience never tires.
He comforts you when things go wrong
And lends a willing ear,
And calmly gives assurance
That you've not a thing to fear.
He'll love you and protect you-
Stand beside you to the end...
He's not just your father,
He's also your best friend.

The Lake
It lies so still; so calm, like freshly-cleaned glass.
It's glossy finish reflecting blue sky
And fluffy white clouds amid towering trees-
Mother Nature's gigantic mirror on the ground.
A gentle breeze sets the mirror a-sparkle
Like a sea of glistening diamonds.
